Marketing Guidelines from Zig Ziglar


  1. You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.
  2. Convince, then persuade.
  3. People buy what they want when they want it, more than, they want the money it costs.
  4. People are going to buy, in most cases, what they really want- not necessarily what they need.
  5. It is your opportunity and responsibility to sell legitimate benefits of your goods and services in a legitimate manner so that your prospect will want to buy from you again and again.
  6. Cool yourself of excususts, the failure disease.
  7. Business id interested in competency not in diplomas.
  8. Anything which improves thinking ability is education. Invest in idea starters.
  9. Seventy-one per cent of people who buy from you trust you and respect you. A bond must be formed between you and the prospect before anything significant will be bought or sold.
  10. You have to establish that trust and respect with your prospects if you expect to be a sales professional. You must be consistent in all areas of life if you are going to achieve maximum results in building your sales career. The most important part of the sales process is the sales person.
